Emma Shea

Emma joins Brighton College Singapore following 16 years of teaching at an outstanding Prep school in North Yorkshire. Emma began her role at Belmont Grosvenor Prep School as Director of Music, progressing to Director of Studies in 2010, Deputy Head in 2019 and finally, in 2021, enjoying a successful year as Acting Headteacher.

Previous to this Emma worked internationally in Thailand as Primary Music Coordinator and gained teaching experience of both the primary and secondary age range.  It was this experience and opportunity to travel that ignited her desire to further explore South East Asia and now return to Singapore.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Emma also holds a Master’s in Music Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and specialist strings teaching from the Royal Northern College of Music.  Aside from Music, Emma also enjoys cycling, running and swimming and is looking forward to exploring the park connectors and discovering all of the various culinary delights Singapore has to offer.

Emma will be accompanied in Singapore by her husband Justyn, and three children who are all extremely excited to be joining the BCS family.
