Amelia joins us from Malaysia where she has been working for the past 5 years at another British International School. Originally from Wales, Amelia embarked on an international life as soon as she graduated high school. She split her undergraduate degree (BA Geography) between Plymouth University, UK and Texas A&M, USA. She went on to complete a Masters (Commerce) at UNSW, Sydney whilst working at a technology company. She pursued her passion for teaching and completed her Post Graduate Certificate of Education and has enjoyed the challenges and rewards ever since.
Having been situated in Malaysia, she loves the multicultural environment Southeast Asia brings. Whilst having visited Singapore many times, Amelia is thrilled to be able to experience a new school and classroom environment that will allow her to help support new cohorts of children helping them reach their potential. She believes that there are always teachable moments, in and outside of the classroom, where the word ‘can’t’ is always paired with… ‘yet’! Her willingness to nurture, support and provide the best possible learning environment for her students shows in the diversity of her lesson planning.
In her spare time, Amelia loves to travel and takes weekends to explore domestic and international locations, making a point to try all the local foods and scouting out walking trails. She enjoys being active and is often found running around a park in the early hours before the sun makes an appearance!
