Alba Torre Alonso

Alba hails from the northern region of Spain and holds qualifications as a specialised teacher in Primary and Early Years Education from the University of Cantabria (Spain) and the UK, accompanied by a QTS degree. She possesses a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the University of Nebrija (Spain) and has achieved a PgCert National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) from the university of Sunderland in 2023.

Her teaching experience includes two years in Nottingham (UK) and four years in a Reception class at Alegra British and International School in Madrid. During her tenure there, she honed her leadership skills while serving as the Head of Key Stage. In 2018, Alba and her husband, Jose, relocated to Singapore, where she embarked on a teaching journey in a Nursery class called Dragonflies at Rain Trees International Kindergarten, and later, from January 2022, at Brighton College Singapore.

These diverse experiences have acquainted her with children of varying ages, cementing her passion for Early Years education. Alba firmly believes in the uniqueness of every child and is dedicated to fostering the growth of young learners through engaging and enriching experiences that enhance their educational journey.

Beyond the classroom, Alba finds joy in spending quality moments with her husband and friends, relishing outdoor activities, painting, reading, and exploring new destinations. She holds a deep affinity for music, and she plays the bagpipes during her leisure time. With great enthusiasm, Alba looks forward to contributing to the vibrant community of Brighton College.
