The last day of school term saw our Finale performance of `Jack and the Beanstalk - The Rap` by our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils who put up separate shows with a modern take on a classic tale. Watching the Brighton College (Singapore) community come together in the lead-up to our latest production was nothing short of inspiring. Hallways buzzed with creativity, rehearsals echoed with laughter and determination, and every corner of the school felt alive with purpose.
At the heart of it all were our pupils, embodying the BCS values of Kindness, Curiosity, and Confidence with every line they learned, every step they rehearsed, and every challenge they embraced. The pupils also loved choosing their colourful 1980s hip-hop outfits.
Of course, no production comes together without a brilliant team. A huge thank you goes out to our incredible parent volunteers whose time and talent helped shape the set into something magical; to our ever-passionate Performing Arts team; to Mrs. Snell, Mrs. Shea, Mrs. Stratford, Miss Mills, and Mr. Stratford for their guidance and tireless energy—and to every pupil who poured their heart into making this performance come alive. A wonderful way to end the term!

Our Year 5 pupils returned from their residential trip to Batam with muddy shoes, and a treasure trove of memories. The week was a whirlwind of adventure, laughter, and learning as the children stepped away from classroom walls and into the great outdoors.
Each day brought a new challenge and opportunity to build resilience, teamwork, and independence. Mornings kicked off with team-building games designed to strengthen communication and leadership—think rope challenges, group problem-solving tasks, and obstacle courses that had everyone cheering each other on.
Afternoons were packed with outdoor adventures: trekking through the lush rainforest, learning about the local ecosystem, and testing their balance on high ropes and climbing walls. At the beach, pupils played games, built epic sandcastles, and took part in thrilling water activities, including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
A standout moment was the sailing session, where pupils took to the open waters with great excitement. Some glided effortlessly; others discovered just how easy it is to capsize—Mr Handley included, whose dramatic topple earned cheers and laughter all around!
This residential wasn’t just a trip—it was a journey of growth. Our Year 5`s returned home with new friendships, stronger bonds, and stories they’ll be telling for years to come.

Celebrating Growth and Achievement: Our Inaugural PCP Graduation Ceremony
Brighton College (Singapore) proudly hosted its very first Preparatory Course for Primary (PCP) Graduation Ceremony—a truly special milestone in our school’s journey. The event celebrated the remarkable progress of our pupils as they developed strong academic English language skills and impressively applied them across our core English curriculum subjects.
Fourteen pupils, spanning Years 1 to 6, were honoured as program graduates. Each child was individually recognised for their personal achievements and unique contributions to the community.
Brighton College (Singapore) extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated teachers and staff who made this programme and this celebration possible. And to our graduates: we are so proud of you. This is just the beginning of a bright and exciting journey.

It was a day of wonder and imagination as our Little Pufflings and Pufflings set off on their adventure to the Keppel Art Centre. From the moment they stepped into the vibrant, light-filled space, their eyes lit up with curiosity.
Surrounded by colour, texture, and sound, the children explored freely, creating and expressing their love for art in ways only young minds can. Whether experimenting with different materials, discovering new shapes, or simply soaking in the sensory-rich environment, it was an wonderful opportunity to express their creativity.
We’re especially grateful to our fantastic parents for their support and for making the experience even more special for the children!

Last Thursday, our Brighton College community had the honour of welcoming Mariam Ottimofiore—author of This Messy Mobile Life and The Guilty Can’t Say Goodbye—whose stories wove together the complexities and beauty of life across borders.
With warmth, humour, and insight, Mariam shared her personal journey of living in 10 countries over 20 years, raising Third Culture Kids, and navigating the delicate dance of multicultural identities. Her reflections resonated deeply with our international families, offering both comfort and clarity on how to support children (and ourselves) through the ever-evolving nature of international moves.
A heartfelt thank you to Santa Fe Relocation Singapore for making this session possible, and to everyone who joined us in person and online.

As Term 2 draws to a close, Brighton College (Singapore) ends on a high note—quite literally—with a spectacular celebration of music and talent. The Young Musician of the Year 2025 showcase brought together nearly 60 budding performers, each one pouring heart and soul into their craft. From the first gentle notes of a beginner’s melody to the confident rhythms of our more seasoned musicians, every performance was a reminder of the joy and power of music.
Their recordings are now on their way to Brighton College UK, where they’ll join submissions alongside our Brighton College family of schools—an inspiring global symphony of young talent.
As we turn the page on Term 2, we reflect with pride and gratitude on the many vibrant moments our pupils have shared—experiences that have helped them grow in confidence and shine in their own unique ways.
