Preparatory Course for Primary (PCP) Year 1 – Year 6

The PCP course at Brighton College is an intensive and rigorous English Language Support (ELS) programme. The programme is designed to equip pupils with the standard of English skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) required to successfully enter mainstream classes (younger pupils) and be ready for Senior School education (upper primary pupils) and ultimately, their IGCSE and A-Level courses. Pupils in our PCP programme will attend academic lessons in their own classrooms and will join their entire year group for some activities, for example; lunches, house activities, competitions, school assemblies, CCAs and potential school trips and visits. This will ensure a smooth transition into mainstream classes upon their graduation from the programme, when they can confidently keep abreast of the learning with their mainstream classmates and interact fluently with their peers.
