PREP SCHOOL • BEYOND THE CLASSROOM • THE PERFORMING ARTS
Starting from Nursery, dance plays a key role in developing cognitive, creative, and emotional skills. It nurtures expression and self-confidence, contributing to well-rounded development.
Using drama, pupils explore their imagination through group participation. We encourage participation in the arts to foster creativity and individuality. This enlivens and energises their school life in a special way. All pupils can perform annually in plays directed by our drama teacher, in which they can showcase their skills and talents. Opportunities are also available for additional drama lessons through our thriving LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) programme.
Within music, we pride ourselves on the full inclusiveness of what the subject can offer. We provide a series of musical events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, musical shows, House competitions, workshops, outside competitions and visits. Experienced specialist instrumental teachers support the programme from week to week, offering individual lessons, which a majority of pupils now take. This, in turn, helps the College with its full musical CCA programme, such as the various choirs, instrumental ensembles and orchestra. We even have a choir for parents!
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College (Singapore) is to join us at an Open House, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
