The Prep School Curriculum

The Brighton College (Singapore) Prep School is a community of innovation. Our curriculum is designed by the very best educators for our location and our learners offering a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities. Our prep school curriculum is designed for children of primary school years aged 6 to 11.

Passionate teachers challenge and stretch our pupils, and as the children grow, we increase the amount of subject specialism learning in appropriate areas culminating in a full specialist model in the Upper Prep School. We believe that excellent teachers are good learners and we encourage the development of our academic staff through further education, continual learning and sharing of practice with educators from around the world. By the children being exposed to experts in their fields, they are offered opportunities for in-depth subject knowledge and higher-order thinking.

The range of specialist teaching offered is outstanding, with a unique language programme, the arts, PE, design technology and science offered to all pupils during their Prep school days.

In and outside of the classroom, pupils are encouraged to explore new disciplines, skills and interests; to give everything a try and in doing so, learn to take risks and to risk failure.

Senior School And Beyond

We do not teach to tests at any level of the Prep School. However, the outstanding curriculum and the skills and knowledge delivered and acquired during their time with us alongside our support with the life skills of prioritising, time management and independence culminates with our student’s graduation at the end of Year 6.

This success gives a firm foundation for their entrance to Senior School at their school of choice here at Singapore, in the UK or indeed anywhere in the World, and prepares them well for life beyond the Prep School.
