Stella answered her calling in education after being a corporate training manager for two decades. During her corporate tenure, she worked with global industry experts whom all spoke different languages. These unique experiences sparked her desire to work with language learners.
She is determined to be a bilingual teacher. Stella obtained her Masters’s degree from the Institute of Education at University College London, the PGCE (International) from the University of Nottingham and a Chinese language Teaching program to embark on her teaching journey. She started her teaching in Life skills and Communication programmes at MOE Singapore schools in 2013, ranging from kindergarten to high schools. Stella enjoys the connection in the school community and especially loves to work with younger groups.
She taught bilingual classes at Stamford American International School Early Years for more than 6 years across different grades in ELV. Stella likes to create a warm and welcoming classroom for the children to feel valued and belong to the class. She believes that every child has his/her hidden talent, and she likes to nurture, encourage, and support them in their learning journey.
As a lifelong learner, Stella decided to step back in 2022 to pursue her interest. During this period, Stella worked as a cover teacher and has taken a few long-term covers at Brighton College (Singapore). She decided to be a full-fledged teacher for the PCP which will launch in August 2024; she couldn’t wait to meet all the students soon!
Stella has two grown up children. She likes to sweat it out in the squash court, walk in green nature, explore food with family, enjoy a cup of coffee with good friends.
