Eleanor Mabbutt

Eleanor (Ellie) is joining Brighton College with eight years of diverse teaching experience. Originally from Bath, UK, she loves to explore new places and cultures and has been lucky enough to combine her love of travelling with her passion for teaching.

Ellie has an MA Honours degree in French and Spanish from the University of Edinburgh and a PGCE from the University of Sunderland. She has also attained QTS and has a CELTA qualification for teaching English as an additional language. Over the past eight years, Ellie has taught in Barcelona, Hong Kong and most recently London, where she was a class teacher in Key Stage One, as well as PE and Sports Lead for the school.

Ellie is a passionate and caring teacher. She strives to motivate and challenge her students, instilling confidence in their individual abilities and encouraging them to love learning as much as she does. When she is not teaching, Ellie loves to be active and you’ll rarely find her sitting still. Her favourite sport is hockey, which she plays regularly, but she loves trail running too and has completed many ultramarathons in the beautiful mountains of Hong Kong. She also enjoys tennis, cycling and dragon-boat racing.

Ellie is joined in Singapore by her husband James, one-year-old son Milo and cocker spaniel puppy, Percy. Together, they have been exploring the island and they are loving the jungles, beaches and sunshine! She is thrilled to be starting at Brighton College (Singapore) in August and can’t wait to meet everyone!
