Dane’s teaching career began in Central London after completing his PGCE at Anglia Ruskin University. Following this, he and his wife moved to Bangkok, where they spent five wonderful years developing their careers and starting a family by having their son Oliver – who is now a student here at Brighton. Whilst at St Andrews International School, Dane was both head of PE and the lead for specialist teachers, as well as taking on additional responsibilities for Thailand’s International Schools Athletics Conference. Most recently, Dane has been in Singapore working at Dover Court International School.
Dane is incredibly excited about joining the Brighton College team as it enters the next stage of its journey. He has been very impressed by the school whilst competing against us in ACSIS events – commenting greatly on the exceptional sporting etiquette displayed. This closely fits Dane’s teaching practice, in which encouraging pupils to show excellent sportsmanship and passion has always been paramount. He looks forward to rolling out the GCSE programme for our future Year 10 pupils and will strive to help all students achieve academic excellence and outstanding personal growth.
Finally, Dane has been a keen sportsman his whole life and has competed in various sports and competitions. Particular highlights have been completing the London Marathon and playing rugby for South East England Colleges. His passion for sport is still as strong and he can often be found on a golf course at the weekends. As a family, Laura, Oliver and Dane love to travel and explore new places. Whether it be a sunset beach, or a trip to the mountains, they love being together enjoying the outdoors.
